Quick and Easy, Tasty Apple Tart Recipe with Pecans and Caramel Sauce

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (218 degrees C). Spray a baking pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper. Place the puffed pastry pieces onto the baking pan Place the apple slices on a bowl and sprinkle lemon juice, sugar and salt, and set aside for 10 minutes, stirring once. Place the apple slices on the pastry rectangles in a line, overlapping the slices as they are added. Bake until the puff pastry is puffed up and golden brown in color (generally about 20-25 minutes). Remove from the baking pan and serve immediately topped with a little caramel sauce and chopped pecans.

Easy Baked Apple Recipe with Crisp Oats Topping

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C. Slice each apple in half lengthwise. Remove the core to creating a cavity for the filling. Rub all over the cut apple surface with lemon juice. Place about one tablespoon of jam or preserve into each hole. Make the topping by mixing together the salt, cinnamon, oats, brown sugar, butter and flour in a small bowl. Place about 1 tablespoon of mixture on the top of each apple, to cover the jam. Prepare a baking dish by adding some water to a depth of 1/4 inch (8 mm) of water. Bake until the top is golden brown and apple has softened (generally about 35-40 minutes).

Make the glaze by combining the dark brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, rum, salt and cloves in a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil over moderate heat, then reduce the heat and simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to thicken and partially caramelize the sauce. Then, preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place all the cored apples in a large baking dish, arranged in a single layer. Place one stick of cinnamon into the depression in each apple, made by removing the core. Pour the rum sauce over the apples. Top each apple with a piece of butter. Pour the cider into the base of the dish to immerse the apples. Place the dish onto the center rack in the oven. Bake the apples, basting twice for 25-30 minutes until they are tender. Serve warm with scoops of rum and raisin ice-cream, or dollops of sour cream, topped with raisins or sultanas.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Mix the orange zest with the squeezed orange juice in a bowl. Peel, the apples, cut into quarters. Remove the cores and then dice the slices. Immediately toss the apples with the orange juice to stop the cut apple surfaces from browning. Add the sugar, flour, cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt to the bowl and mix through the apples to coat. Flour your board or bench-top and place the puff pastry squares on top. Lightly roll the squares and then cut each sheet into quarters. Brush along the edge of each of the small pastry squares with egg wash. Then, add about about 1/3 cup (4 Tablespoons) of the apple mixture onto one side of each square. Fold the pastry over the apple mixture, diagonally. Seal each turnover using a fork to squash the edges together. Transfer the turnovers to a sheet pan, greased and lined with parchment paper. Brush the top of each turnover with egg wash, add a sprinkle sugar. Use a knife to make 2 small slits in each turnover, and bake for about 20-30 minutes until puffed and browned.

Quick and Easy Apple Muffins Recipe

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a 12 cup muffin pan with cooking spray. Combine the the pecans, cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar in a small bowl. Using a medium size bowl, add the whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour, salt and baking soda and whisk the dry ingredients together. Using another bowl, whisk the eggs, and gradually add 3/4 cup of sugar, oil, baking soda and salt, while whisking. Mix in the applesauce and vanilla. Then, add the flour mixture in two batches, alternating with some of the buttermilk. Fold in using a wooden spoon until just combined, but do not over-mix. Gently fold in the apple cubes. Spoon dollops of the batter into the sprayed muffin pan cups. Sprinkle a small amount of the pecan mixture on top. Bake for about 20-25 minutes. Test for doneness using a toothpick inserted into the core of one of the muffins. They are cooked when the toothpick comes out clean. Remove the pan from the oven and set aside on a wire rack for about 15 minutes. Then, remove the muffins and serve warm.
